In this article, we will be exploring the following topics.
- Investing your energy is like investing your money.
- Beware of energy suckers and how not to become one.
- Practical advice on how to become a better you.
Investing your energy is like investing your money
How we choose to invest our energy produces one of two results.
- By just focusing our energy on the negative experience alone (by not looking to learn from it) its then that our power is depleted, therefore, causing a loss of energy whereby we become fatigued (depressed, miserable and so on). Why because there isn’t a positive return. It’s energy being spent with nothing coming back in return, and that’s not a good investment of our time and energy!
- The alternative is for us to focus our energy and spend it on something that further empowers us (Like learning from our negative experiences), this then will infuse us with even more energy and strength. It’s energy feeding off of energy! This is Our Renewable Energy Source. This thoughtful invest of time and energy is self-empowering by nature. It’s synergistic because it creates synergy and that is what positive energy feeding off of itself looks like, and that’s an excellent investment!
The above doesn’t leave room for any middle ground because there isn’t.
Without a constant influx of positive energy we begin to die inside. We need a daily infusion to keep our forward momentum.
Beware of energy suckers and how not to become one
The result of this inward death is why some people become cynical, toxic, miserable, pessimistic and negative all the time.
What I’ve observed from talking with people who have imploded internally is that they stopped feeding themselves with self-empowering words and instead trained themselves to only think in negative terms.
Hence the implosion and formation of an energy-sucking black hole that lives within them feeding of off of a need for more negative energy.
These people, unfortunately, are highly toxic by nature. You’ll notice their toxicity by a behavioral pattern that blames everyone else for the way they are and for what they’ve become. They will more often than not manipulate you into thinking you’re the one who is to blame for everything that’s gone wrong. They’ll twist and manipulate our words to turn the whole thing around to blame it on you.
Taking responsibility for their actions is foreign to them.
This pattern of behavior is very predictable, but that’s also true with anyone who is insane and or crazy. Narcists and sociopaths all display a consistent and predictable pattern of behavior.
They don’t know any other way. When we call them out for their toxic behavior, all they can do is fight and sometimes with dangerous intensity to defend and deflect responsibility. It’s this kind of person that will often cause you to question if any of what you’re witnessing is even real and might also cause you to think that maybe your the one who is crazy.
When you or I see this behavior and manipulation of facts and words its natural for us to question our sanity because this behavior they’re demonstrating is alien to us.
Even worse this kind and type of person can never learn from their negative experiences and are known for their constant bickering, bitching and complaining about nearly everything they experience in life.
They’re seemingly always the victim! Never are they able to admit to being ever wrong and as a result, refuse and fight against taking personal responsibly for their own actions and behavior.
We all have experienced how draining it feels when we’re around such people because they’re never the problem you are and everyone else.
This example demonstrates the complete opposite of the renewable energy I spoke of in the beginning.
Negativity slowly drains its victim until they’ve become a lifeless zombie walking aimlessly through life seeking to infect other people in an effort to reproduce their negativity.
Those who I’ve just described are not the kind of people you or I need or want to keep in our lives because they’re highly destructive destroying anyone who comes to close them. Especially those who see them for who they are and call them out on it.
My advice on how to handle them is to cut them out of your life altogether. They’re not worth the expense of having your life destroyed by them.
You have only one life to live don’t allow them to rob you of this gift.
If deleting them from your life isn’t an option because they’re an ex-wife or ex-husband that you have children with or maybe they’re a close relative, in this scenario I highly recommend that you establish very firm boundaries with them and always keep a safe distance from them.
They’re like a bad apple. If you put a rotten apple into your basket of good apples eventually, it will infect the rest, causing all of them to go bad. Once you’ve identified the bad apple, you must immediately remove as quickly as possible from your basket so you can protect the ones from going bad also.
And that’s what I mean by removing them from your life and establishing healthy boundaries!
Not everyone deserves a place in your basket.
Practical advice on how to become a better you
The truth is, we all need renewable energy to live and survive. It’s what empowers us to become a better version of ourselves.
We all need to hear kind words from time to time.
It’s incredible how, kind, encouraging words have this magical ability to infuse us with energy that empower us on to the next level of our journey and adventure.
It must be something written within our DNA that needs this infusion of energy to get us through our day.

Mistakes in life are inevitable, but learning from them is optional.
Examples of making a mistake;
- Meeting and getting involved with the wrong person. (Narcists, Sociopaths)
- Not budgeting your bills correctly causing your bank account to be overdrawn.
- Not taking care of your body and then suffering from illness as a result
We have the option to just blow it off and try to forget it ever happened or we could learn from them.
Which implies that learning is a choice, an act of our will and only you can make that choice for yourself.
In other words, our mistakes are the negative experience and when we choose to learn from them that the positive we take away it.
Our mistakes don’t have to remain a negative experience, thereby allowing them to go to waste, especially when you’re only one choice away from turning your negative experience into a positive one.
Therefore, when you invest your time by learning from your negative experiences, the outcome of your investment will be an asset you can take with you for life.
Your time is money so wouldn’t it be a good idea to spend or invest it wisely like learning from your negative experiences?
